Garret Conway MA LMFT, PATP
Founder and Psychotherapist
For over 20 years, Garret has been dedicated to the healing potential and power of nature connection experiences and therapy. He has worked extensively with a diverse set of communities all over the world. Garret holds an MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology and Wilderness Therapy from Naropa University and has served as an Executive Director, University Lecturer, and Therapist supporting individuals, couples, and families in both workshop settings as well as in his private practice. He is informed by Gestalt, Somatic, Experiential, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Transpersonal philosophies as well as nature-based healing in his work. As a father of two, Garret loves surfing and camping with his family and playing basketball in his free time. Garret currently has a private practice in Scotts Valley, California and is a certified Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Provider from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute in collaboration with MAPS.
He views therapy as a collaboration where therapist and client work together to connect with an inner healing intelligence and unconditional positive regard within each of us. Client and therapist can then tend to trauma, grief, resentments, and limiting beliefs that are contributing to symptoms. With humility and reverence for the resilience, courage and vulnerability it can take to heal ourselves, he creates a nonjudgmental, kind and compassionate space with room for humor, absurdity and fun. Garret integrates healing modalities from various wisdom traditions that awaken our physiological and emotional connective systems in collaboration with the natural world. This process can help clear historic trauma and family of origin wounding that is reinforced by a mass cultural amnesia. He draws from evidence-based client-centered modalities including Transpersonal Psychology, Ecopsychology, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt, Family Systems and Somatic approaches to healing.
Samantha Lau PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
I am a licensed, dual board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, ketamine psychedelic therapist, and CEO of ELEVATEHER®, LLC, a concierge mental health care practice that provides result-driven psychiatric care and transformation for women who are ready to unveil their vulnerable-badass selves to feel better, work better, and love better.
With more than 15 years of experience in psychiatry, I serve as Steering Committee Member and key opinion leader to Psych Congress, Psych Congress Elevate and Psych Congress NP Institute – nationally renowned medical conferences, providing cutting-edge research and clinical application to mental health professionals across the country. I am proud to be part these important conferences, as we collectively work to improve patient care and build world-class mental health care systems in the United States.
I worked as West Coast manager and psychiatric nurse practitioner at Landmark Health, enhancing collaboration between physical and behavioral healthcare. I earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of California, Los Angeles and completed my post-graduate psychiatric nurse practitioner program and psychotherapy training at Johns Hopkins University. I am certified in family medicine and psychiatry, and received a full scope of rigorous ketamine psychedelic assisted psychotherapy training at the Polaris Insight Center. I have completed the year-long MDMA and psilocybin assisted psychotherapy certification training at Integrative Psychiatry Institute in collaboration with MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies).
Early in my career, I worked to influence health policy, with the goal of integrating psychiatric care into primary care. Prior to Landmark Health, I was an accomplished mental health care specialist, a manager of nurse practitioners, and a mentor at CareMore Health, Anthem Inc. I developed a guide for psychopharmacology and disease management, and a tool for primary care practitioners to support patients with mental health needs. It gives me as much satisfaction to educate the public and help the future workforce in psychiatry as it does to help each and every one of my inspiring patients.
